My Lawn Mower 4.0 Stopped Charging

If your Manscaped Lawn Mower 4.0 has suddenly stopped taking charges, it could be because of one of the following reasons:

  • Broken Charging Brick: Your charging adapter could be malfunctioning in this case and it’s better to try charging some other device using this specific one to learn if it’s broken. If not, move to the next troubleshoot.

  • Check USB Cable: The USB cable you’re using could also be damaged and swapping it out with a different one should tell you whether you need a permanent replacement.
  • Check Wall Socket: Even the wall socket could have burned out and moving to another socket is the easiest test you can run in this regard.

  • Faulty Wireless Charging: Almost impossibly, the Lawn Mower 4.0’s wireless charging chip could be out of commission and it definitely means unfixable by yourself unless you’re a tech-expert.
  • Device Burn: Check for burned smell immediately after the Lawn Mower 4.0 stops taking charge. Something inside could have been set off and placed up front for a warranty claim.
  • Water Leakage: If you’re trying to charge your Lawn Mower 4.0 when it’s wet – DON’T! It’s generally inadvisable and there could be some water clogged inside the charging port. Let the trimmer dry out before trying again.
  • Check the Dock: Since Lawn Mower 4.0 comes with a charging dock and it’s the only mode of charging, an issue with the dock could very well lead to the trimmer not charging.

If none of these seem to fix your issue, claim warranty from the Manscaped website and talk it out with their representative!

My Manscaped Trimmer 4.0 Stopped Working

I’ve come across many users who complain that their Mascaped Trimmer 4.0 (the Lawn Mower 4.0) has stopped working. There could be a wide number of possible issues causing this and the diagnosis below could help you sort it out:

  • Out of Charge: The most difficult challenges are often the most simple ones. If your Manscaped 4.0 trimmer has suddenly stopped working, try checking if it has enough charge. Plug in the power cord, wait a couple of hours to make the assessment.
  • Check if the Trimmer Takes Charge: Don’t just keep the trimmer docked into the station, check if it’s actually charging. If you can’t find any hint that the trimmer is taking charge, try the ‘not charging’ diagnostics from above.

  • Clogged Motor: I hope you do know that the Manscaped 4.0 trimmer needs to be cleaned frequently. Take the blades off to see the hair chamber. Clean it out should there be a clog because it can jam the motor and prevent it from running.
  • Check the Blades: Try turning the trimmer on after removing the blades. If there’s a buzz, then it’s a faulty blade unit giving you trouble and it needs replacement.

  • Dead Battery: As rare as it may be, your Lawn Mower 4.0’s battery unit could die out and despite showing the signs of taking charge, the trimmer will not turn on. Some people can replace the battery by themselves, but it’s better to seek warranty guidance for a cleaner outcome.
  • Dead Motor: Even more rare is the issue of a broken motor in Manscaped 4.0 but it’s machinery, so nothing is impossible. If none of the tricks above has worked for you, then the motor or some IC inside must have been on their last legs and again, a warranty claim is required.

Although I believe there shouldn’t be any issue causing a tiny yet solid body grooming device to malfunction at this scale. Double-check the troubleshoots if needs be.

My Lawnmower 4.0 Is Doing This and Won’t Start

I came across this query on Reddit while a second user asked ‘My lawnmower 4.0 brand new doesn’t work. Lights turn on and the travel lock is off, not sure what to do. I just got it today.’

Both of these issues have the same origin. The video shows that when the power button in the Manscaped Lawn Mower 4.0 is pressed, instead of turning on, the trimmer LEDs are lit up for a couple of seconds.

In hindsight, it seems like a faulty product but trust me – it’s only the travel lock that’s been activated by accident.

“Press the power button three times rapidly to set it off” and it should turn the trimmer on without giving you any hassle.

Manscaped Lawnmower 3.0 Not Charging

The reasons behind the Lawn Mower 3.0 not charging is somewhat similar to the Lawn Mower 4.0 stopped charging. Please check out the instructions above for a thorough troubleshoot.

As an addition, you can test out a couple of things if the previous instructions failed to reach a verdict on the issue.

  • Alter between Charger & Dock: Since Lawn Mower 3.0 doesn’t run with a USB Type-C cable, it’s tough to swap out the cable with your phone’s charger. What you can do is to place the trimmer on the dock, having the dock connected to power. Check if the trimmer starts to get charged. If not, connect it directly to the cord. One of the two should work if the charging cable is functional.

  • Replace the Cable: Failing at the test above might indicate the issue lies with the USB cable, therefore it requires a replacement. Manscaped has a dedicated article on their Lawn Mower 3.0 cable, how to replace, what to do and what not to do with it.

Why Is My Manscaped Trimmer Charging Light Blinking?

There could be two reasons for your charging light to be blinking on your Manscaped trimmer, particularly the Lawn Mower 4.0.

Travel Lock is ON: As mentioned above, Lawn Mower 4.0 blinks its charging light and does nothing upon pressing the power button if the travel lock is activated. You may want to disengage the lock and try again.

Trimmer is Charging: When you plug the trimmer into the charging cable or place it on the dock, both the Lawn Mower 3.0 and 4.0 blinks their lights. It indicates that the trimmer is charging. Once all the LEDs are turned on and not blinking, it’s an indication that the charging has been completed.

How to Use The Travel Lock on the Lawn Mower 4.0

Using the travel lock on the Lawn Mower 4.0 is quite straightforward only if you know how to do it. Otherwise, it has come to surprise as many because of a malfunction assumption.

  • Engaging the Travel Lock: When your Manscaped Lawn Mower 4.0 is turned off, quickly press the power button 3 times. It should engage the lock and pressing the power button will not turn the device on.
  • Disengaging the Travel Lock: I’ll reiterate – when the trimmer is in locked mode, press the power button 3 times rapidly to disengage the lock. Then you’ll be able to turn it on and use it as you like.

It’s worth noting that the Lawn Mower 3.0 does not have any travel lock. The newer versions contain this feature out of the box and it helps out during your travel days, minimizing the risk of accidental set offs.

How To Fix Manscaped Lawnmower 3.0 Not Charging

So far I’ve covered the ways you can diagnose Lawn Mower 3.0 charging issues and a few tips to walk past those quite easily.

If none of that works and you’re certain it’s a battery issue, you have the chance to repair that yourself should your warranty not cover it or you’re just a tech-geek.

Remember that manually replacing your battery will void your warranty claim, so you should proceed at your own risk.

The battery replacement process isn’t honestly the most straightforward affair and to be honest, not something I’d do myself.

But for the curious minds out there, you can watch this video on YouTube for a detailed breakdown of the procedure that’ll teach you how to do it at home!

Why Your Manscaped Shaver Isn’t Cutting Well

Let’s shift our focus away from the nut shavers toward the facial shaver by Manscaped – they call it the Handyman.

While the size and looks are very cute, some have faced the issue where the shaver isn’t cutting well. There are quite a few reasons that can be held responsible for this and it’s time for us to find out!

  • Jammed Head: Undo the shaver’s head to check for residue of all sorts. These can slow down the foils or the blades that can sabotage the cutting actions of your shaver.

  • Blunt Blades: Your Manscaped shaver blades do have limitations on sharpness and it needs to be replaced once it starts to drag or fails to cut well. These replacements can be bought from Manscaped website or secondary vendors online.

  • Malfunctioning Unit: If it’s not a blade or clog issue, then it’s highly likely that the device is faulty. However, do check if it’s taking charge or has the battery charged to the fullest before beginning the warranty claim procedure.

Manscaped 4.0 Won’t Charge and is Out Of Battery. What Should I Do?

Another interesting post I found on Reddit in which a user posted a video of his Manscaped Lawn Mower 4.0.

This user claims that the device is out of battery and it won’t charge. But the video clearly shows that the issue is with the travel lock.

It’s activated and the comment section helped the user out to resolve this issue very easily.

I’ve mentioned travel lock quite a lot of times in this article, but highlighting this Reddit post is not about that.

I simply included it to show how important it is to properly diagnose an issue. If done incorrectly, it’s way too easy to mistake travel lock for battery not charging.

Imagine claiming warranty for that? How embarrassing would it have been!

How Do I Know if My Manscaped 4.0 is Charging?

Manscaped Lawn Mower 4.0 has three LED lights that indicate the charging levels of the trimmer with 33% increments.

My Manscaped Trimmer Stopped Working: 26 Causes & Fixes (12)

Once you dock it in the station for charging, the latest increment light will start to blink on the device.

For instance, if your trimmer is fully depleted, only the first light will blink at first. With time, the first light will remain lit and the second one to start blinking, and so on.

Once all three lights are completely lit without any blinking, you’ll know that your trimmer is fully charged!

Precautions for Manscaped Trimmers/Shavers

Do you want your Manscaped shaver or trimmer to last longer without running into any issue that may have been caused because of ignorance or improper care?

I’ll give you some precautions to follow, it should steer such issues clear of your way unless it’s a technical failure where you have nothing to do.

  • Clean Regularly: It’s ideal to clean out your Manscaped device after every grooming session. It prevents the device from clogging and keeps the blades sharper for a longer duration.

  • Lube after Cleaning: If you didn’t know, you need to lube your motor and blades after cleaning and drying out the Manscaped trimmer/ shaver. This not only increases efficiency, but also sustainability.
  • Don’t Charge Wet Device: NEVER plug your dripping wet Manscaped grooming tool to a power outlet or station it in the dock. Mop it up first, wait a while so that it dries out completely before considering charging.
  • Check for Travel Lock: It’s a laughing stock at this point, but do check if your travel lock is engaged before pointing fingers at other imaginary issues with your Manscaped device.
  • Avoid Dropping: I don’t think it should be spoken out loud, but here I am – please avoid dropping your trimmer or shaver. These are electronic gadgets, not a dumbbell.
  • Don’t Submerge while Washing: While most of the Manscaped tools are IPX rated, it’s advisable to submerge them under deeper water for a longer duration. Splashes and quick dips are okay, but no more than that.
  • Just Rinse, No Soap: You don’t need to soap up your Manscaped device while washing it. Rinsing it under the tap should suffice.
  • Keep the Dock away from Water: Your trimmer is waterproof but I don’t believe the dock is similarly sturdy as the device. Also, it’s connected to electricity and for both of these reasons, just place it somewhere water splashes can’t reach.

  • Claim Warranty before Engineering without Expertise: Lastly, if you don’t have the knowledge about repairing grooming products, just claim the warranty or have a chat with Manscaped support. Lack of expertise can damage your product for good and deprive you of the opportunity of getting a replacement from warranty.

Keeping these tips in mind can help you stretch the usable duration of your Manscaped tool and grant you smooth grooming sessions!

Most of the Mascaped devices are currently in my possession and I’d most certainly love to help out fixing your tool if it’s within the reach of my knowledge.
