12 PIQUA DAILY CALL Friday, August 26, 1977 Deaths, funerals Adrolssions: Hospital news Marling E. Snyder Marling E. Snyder, 79, of 416 Second died Thursday at 2:40 p.m. in the Miami County Health Care Center. Born March 28, 1898 in Miami County, he was a son of William M.

and Mary Wolfe Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a 50-year member of the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ and was retired from Orr Felt and Blanket Co. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Harry Hart (Harriet) of Greenville, Mrs.

William Baker (Esther) of Piqua, and Mrs. Grant (Ruth) of Cincinnati. One sister and five brothers preceded him in death. Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.p: in Jamieson Funeral Home, 333 W. High by the Rev.

Warren Smith. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Roy H.

Stewart Roy H. Stewart, 83, of 929 Washington Troy, died at 6 a.m. this morning in the Koester Wing of Dettmer Hospital. Born March 18, 1892 in Kansas City, he was a son of Adorm and Elizabeth Elliott Stewart. Survivors include a sister, Mrs.

Elizabeth Hopkins of Troy; several nieces and nephews. His wife, Doris, preceded him in death. Mr. Stewart was a member of the St. James A.M.E.

Church of Troy and was a retired janitor in the Miami County Courthouse. Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the Fisher-Cheney. and Cron Funeral Horde, 1124 W. Main Troy, by the Rev.

Arthur McPhail. Burial will be in Riverside Cervetery, Troy. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.ro. at the Funeral home. Winans Benjamin (Ben) K. Winans, 68, of 900 Boone died Thursday at a.m. In Kettering Medical Center, where he had been a patient six weeks. Born in Piqua, Sept. 22, 1908, he was a son of Kenneth and Rose Johnson Winans.

He was quarried Sept. 28, 1940 to Shirley Vandewege. She survives. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Edward Graham (Beatrice) of Annapolis, Betty Winans of Alexandria, and Dora Winans of Arlington, Va.

Mr. Winans was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, Warren Lodge 24, Pique 32 Club, Piqua Eagles and the Bricklayers Local 22 of Ohio. He formerly had owned Winans TV Sales and Service. Services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Jamieson Funeral Home, 333 W.

High with the Rev. Robert Sinks officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Contributions in his memory may be given to a favorite charity.

Eva M. Dearth SIDNEY Eva M. Dearth, 84, of 701 S. Main wed Thursday at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was born Ocl.

31, 1892, in Chicago. She moved to Sidney in 1928. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. James Wills (Catherine), of Florida, and two sons, Charles Huffman Dearth of Silver City, N. and Harry (Bob) Jr.

Dearth, of Sidney. There are 13 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. A brother, Carroll Shinn, of Bridgeport, W.Va., and a sister, Mrs. Madeline Rittman, of Columbus, also survive. Mrs.

Dearth was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Pleiades Chapter No. 298, the Sidney American Legion Auxiliary, Sidney Altrusa Club, was a registered nurse, and a retired funeral director. She was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and a lifetime member of the Ohio State Nurses Association. She belonged to the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, Dayton. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m.

in Souder's Funeral Home, 201 N. Main, Sidney. Elder Robert Frost will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Ceinetery. Visitation is 10 a.m.

Thursday at Piqua Mernorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two days. Born Oct. 21, 1924 in Pleasant Hill, he was the son of William and Mary Thompson Minnich. He was married on Jun. 12, 1970 to Ruby Hackney, who survives.

Mr. Minnich attended schools in Pleasant Hill and Bradford. He was employed at the and Wood Products, Piqua, He previously was employed at the Drees Sawmill, Covington, and Union Fork and Hoe of Piqua. Other survivors include one stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Lynhart of Piqua; three grandchildren; three brothers, George of Bradford, Louis of Greenville and Albert of Rossburg; and two sisters, Mrs.

Rufus Staudt (Mildred) of Covington and Mrs. Hilda Harrison of Versailles. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bridges Funeral Horne, 180 N. High Covington.

The Rev. Randy Maycumber will officiate. Burial wIll be at Highland Cemetery, Covington. Visitation is 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Sturwold, 80, of 244 Kaiser Fort Loramie, died Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at his residence. Born in Fort Loramie, June 24, 1897, he was a son of Henry and Bernadine Reiering Sturwold: He was married to Mary Dwenger, June 22, 1926. Mr. Sturwold was a member of Sis.

Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, and the Holy Name Society of the church. He was an 18-year-old employe of Minster Machine Co. and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Virgil Gaerke of Vandalia, Mrs.

Charles Wendeln (Irma) of Maria Stein, Norma Sturnwold of Piqua; five sons, Clarence of Vandalia, Ralph and Gilbert, both of Fort Loramie, Wilbur of Russia, John of Minster; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. James McDonough (Clara), Mrs. Frances Gudorf, both of Dayton. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m.

at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. A. Edwin Francis officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. In the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, 61 S. Hanover Minster.

Henry A. Shappie VERSAILLES Henry A. Shappie, 58, of 136 Reed died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Hospital, Greenville. He was born Nov.

24, 1920 in Versailles, the son of Frank and Josephine Gasson Shappie. He was married on Aug. 17, to Helen Clawson, who survives. Mr. Shappie was a World War II Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church here and the Versailles Eagles. He was a relired employe of the Val Decker Packing Piqua. He is survived by his widow; three brothers, Francis of Newport, and Alfred and Bernard, both of Versailles; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Zorn of Partland, and Miss Mary Shappie of Piqua.

Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Dennis Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr.
